Knocked Up star Seth Rogen is making his internet film into a movie.

The actor's Jay and Seth vs the Apocalypse, which he made with his director friend Jason Stone, will be developed with writing partner Evan Goldberg for the big screen with the pair retaining final cut after signing a deal with Mandate Pictures.

Rogen and Jay Baruchel play two guys who find themselves holed up together when monsters invade earth. The world as we know it is about to end and the pair are coming to their wits end, turning against each other.

Executive producer Nathan Kahane said about the project: "It was exciting for us when we convinced these guys to try a business outside of the studio system.

"You don't do it for everybody. You do it for people who you get to know over a period of time and you get a sense of whether they are your kind of people or they aren't. Sam Raimi has final cut on every 'Ghost House' movie we've ever had. Sometimes you want to get into bed with talent you want to trust and are willing to show them that trust contractually."

The film is expected to start shooting in 2009.

Rogen and Goldberg are currently working on The Green Hornet, which the former will produce, due for a 2010 release.
