Donald Trump has said that Jennifer Hudson is "safe" at one of his hotels in Chicago following the murder of her mother, brother and nephew.
The Oscar winner is staying free of charge at the Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, said the tycoon.
"She's a great girl. And we're protecting them well," he told People.com at a benefit honouring director Baz Luhrman. "They are very safe."
Police are still questioning Hudson's estranged brother-in-law William Balfour, who has been detained since October 26. He has not been charged.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Mississippi college student Rashia Whitlock told investigators that Balfour, who she met through Myspace, called her on the day of the murders telling her he and his "boys" were "getting ready for something real big."
