Vanessa Williams has admitted that Lindsay Lohan's appearance on hit show Ugly Betty caused an "unbalance".
There have been several rumours of arguments between Lohan and the show's star America Ferrera. Something of which Williams, who plays bitchy editor Wilhelmina Slater on the series, denies - although she admits she could understand how the tension between the two actresses could be misunderstood.
She explained, "America is the consummate professional. She works very hard, and she's also very invested in her character. So if you don't come with the same drive and panache, I think that's where the unbalance was.
"We're such a tight cast, and a well-oiled machine, that to jump on and to rise to the occasion is the true test. I think Lindsay playing the part that she did, which was Kimmy - kind of a bratty high school nightmare for Betty - I think she did her part."
Hmmm, make of that what you will.
Lohan filmed two episodes of Ugly Betty, and Williams insists the Mean Girls star enjoyed her time on the show despite all the furore.
"I think by the time Lindsay was finished, she loved us and she wanted to stay longer," she added.
