With "Terminator Salvation" wrapped in an enigma within a mystery, it has been left to some wily internet-based journos to spread some juicy rumours about McG's cybernetic reboot. And to this end Comingsoon.net managed to wring one such rumour out of the big man himself! At a recent press showing of new footage from the film out in the States, McG let slip that there may be a cameo of sorts available for a returning Linda Hamilton! Hamilton of course played the original uber babe Sarah Connor in James Cameron's "T1" and "T2" and has been adamant that she would never return to the Terminator fold. However, what McG is proposing is an introductory voiceover in which Hamilton would reprise her role as Connor and lay out 'the story so far'. Again, it should be noted that this is simply conjecture at this point and may not happen at all.
What's more likely however is any time travelling element included in the proposed "Terminator Salvation" sequels. Commissioned for a three picture deal, McG and writer Jonathan Nolan ("The Dark Knight", "Prestige") have holed themselves up somewhere and been busy working on the story arc for the conclusion of the trilogy. At the special event McG hinted that "time travel has yet to be explored" in the upcoming movie, and that it would be one of the themes of the next one. Since the plot of "Salvation" involves Christian Bale's John Connor trying to save Anton Yelchin's Kyle Reese, who would later go back in time and father John, a sequel may deal with some of the things leading up to Kyle going back in time to save Sarah from the original T-800 - and result in the Governator's oft rumoured 'cameo' perhaps?
