Michael Bay completes first draft of "Transformers 2"

"Transformers" director Michael Bay has been busy scribing the next instalment of those famous robots in disguise. Bay, whilst attendning the Visual Effects Society Awards, in which "Transformers" suitably cleaned up, told our good friends at Rotten Tomatoes that he's already written the sequel and will submit his script to the screenwriters, who are just coming off of the strike. And apparently Bay makes a point of writing all of his movies, or at least taking up the first draft duties.

"I've been writing Transformers 2," said Bay. "We've got our characters all designed. I always write all my scripts, my movies anyway, so at least I've got something to give the writers. It's like a template. We have a really good outline so I worked on that." Bay added "We had to because I want to make my date. I'm not going to let the strike take me down."

Some fighting talk there by Bay, who refuses to let a little Hollywood power struggle get him down! Fortunately, for all concerned, the writers strike is officially at an end so we can rest easy that "Transformers 2" will not be rolling out by the pen of Bay alone. On a side note, and uber-geeks should avert their gaze now, Bay assured the attendees at this year's event that "Transformers 2" will not feature the beloved Dinobots in any way, shape or form (cue single solitary tear rolling down the cheek of this writer).
