Iron Man may only have opened in cinemas last month but Marvel Studios have already announced an April 2010 premiere date for the sequel.

This was backed up by director Jon Favreau who told EW.com: "We've been speaking informally about it, and in concept we would all love to work together again."

However, Favreau admitted in his Myspace blog that he was "concerned" about the April target saying: "Neither Robert [Downey Jr] nor I were consulted about this... we have no script, story or even writers hired yet. This genre of movie is best when it is done thoughtfully and with plenty of preparation."

He went on to say that the pressure was being applied to get the film out next year because, "there are no Marvel 09 releases and they need product."
