Sylvester Stallone is to receive a lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival.
Organizers of the annual film festival have confirmed that the Rambo star is to receive the prestigious Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory honour.
Stallone said, "To receive an award at the Venice festival is a dream I always hoped would come true. Now that this has happened I can say that it was well worth the wait."
Scenes from his forthcoming movie The Expendables will be shown during the award ceremony on September 12.
