Billy Bob Thornton has launched a staggering rant at Hollywood, insisting he "doesn't care" about the movie industry anymore.

The outspoken actor claims he only makes movies for the money after being disillusioned with Hollywood films.

Talking about his music band side project, he told Metro, "My ideal scenario would be to tour for three or four months a year, make two or three records a year and one movie that pays a lot of money. They won't make movies that mean anything to me, so I don't care what it is. I'll play a clown, anything.

"I don't watch movies. I don't care about about them. The movie business has tortured us long enough. It's a money making machine and I don't like it.

"The rest of the world makes movies that mean something some of the time. In America, we don't."

Thornton also insisted his Monster's Ball co-star, the late Heath Ledger, felt the same way: "If Heath were sitting here right now, he would really enjoy our conversation about Hollywood," Thornton added. "He never involved himself in Hollywood and he didn't want to be a celebrity. He wanted to be an actor."
