Angelina Jolie has sensationally revealed that she took her six year old adopted son Maddox out shopping for knives.
The Wanted actress insisted on the controversial shopping trip in a bid to teach her Cambodian-born son the importance of defending yourself.
She said, "We take him to a special shop. We also talk about samurais and the idea about defending someone as good. We talk about everything.
"I suppose I just looked at him and loved him and just felt open to it. I suddenly wanted to."
Jolie, who famously used to sleep with a knife under her pillow, said blade buying at a young age runs in the family. She revealed that her mother Marcheline Bertrand took her shopping for a knife when she was just eleven.
