Jackie Chan is reportedly in talks to star in the Karate Kid remake as Mr Miyagi.
The kung fu star is in negotiations to star in the Columbia Pictures remake of the 1984 kid's classic, which saw a young bullied boy getting back at his tormentors through the eccentric teachings of his martial arts expert neighbour Mr Miyagi.
The role was made famous by the late Noriyuki 'Pat' Moriata - who received an Oscar nomination for his iconic performance.
Will Smith's young son Jaden has already signed on for the picture in the role previously played by Ralph Macchio.
Agent Cody Banks' Harald Zwart is on directing duties.
The original film spawned three sequels.
