Beyonce Knowles is reportedly being bombarded with hate mail for selling animal fur.

The Booty-ful singer and actress has been sent sacks of letters since her Dereon label started selling clothes made of rabbit and chinchilla fur - along with teddy bears made out of mink. Furious animal rights campaigners have even threatened to leave animal carcasses outside the star's home.

Beyonce has come under fire from animal welfare groups before. The former Destiny's Child singer and Austin Powers star was one of many celebrities blasted by PETA for wearing Canadian Mukluk boots, which are made of rabbit fur.

The organisation's spokesman Sean Gifford said at the time: "The rabbits are sourced from Asia and are crammed into small, wire boxes before being electrocuted or strangled. Many are skinned alive.

"As far as we can see, this kind of treatment is what celebrities - those who don't give a damn - are supporting. Fake fur looks every bit as good."
