The producers of ER are hoping to tempt George Clooney back for the programme's final season.
Fifteen years after the hospital drama was first aired, it is nearing its climax and, according to Entertainment Weekly, executive producers John Wells and David Zabel are intent on bringing back some of the show's firm favourites, chief among them Clooney and Julianna Margulies.
"We want to revisit characters that have existed on the show over the years and say where they are now," said Zabel of Clooney and Margulies, who played Clooney's love interest, Carol. "We'd love to get them all back in some way."
