Richard Gere is free to visit India after the country's Supreme Court threw out a legal case of obscene behaviour against the hunky actor.

There was a warrant issued for Gere after he kissed Bollywood star and Celebrity Big Brother winner Shilpa Shetty several times on the cheek at an Aids awareness event in New Delhi last year. A court in the western state of Rajasthan ordered the arrest after they were outraged by Gere's actions.

However, the case has been thrown out, with the judge saying the action against the actor was "frivolous" and filed for "cheap publicity".

KG Balakrishanan said: "Richard Gere is free to enter the country. This is the end of the matter. (The complainants) have brought a bad name to the country."

The actor, who apologised for his actions, is believed to be planning another trip to India soon.

Let's hope he keeps his hands to himself this time.
