There is nothing lost in translation here - a man paid a staggering $40,100 to go on a date with actress Scarlett Johansson.
The unnamed UK man made the bid on eBay for an online auction, with all proceeds going to Oxfam. The man saw off 170 bids to win the date with the actress.
The lucky (and no doubt poorer) man will accompany Johansson to the premiere of her new movie He's Just Not That Into You (which is definitely not the case with Scarlett's mystery admirer).
We're guessing, though, that it won't be that intimate and the chances of a second date are slim (unless there is another auction around the corner).
