Not only Jennifer Hudson has bagged a part in the eagerly awaited Sex And The City movie. but she will also sing a brand new song on the soundtrack album.

The singer/actress will play Carrie Bradshaw's personal assistant in the forthcoming movie. Hudson has said her character is a "young, sweet girl... in love with love".

But the film's producer Michael Patrick King has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the Dreamgirls star will also sing on the soundtrack, with her song All Dressed Up In Love scheduled to close the film. It is co-written by Jack Splash of Plantlife and Gnarls Barkley's Cee-Lo.

"She sings it like nobody's business," said King.

Joining Hudson on the album will be Fergie, who has recorded a new song called Labels & Love (clothes based song titles seem to be in fashion on this soundtrack). The Black Eyed Peas singer was worried she would be too busy to work on the song, but cleared her schedule especially once she'd seen the film.

King said, "It's an entirely new song with lyrics, but it has the Sex And The City theme as the DNA — on steroids."
