The biggest coup for this year's London Film Festival has to be the world premiere of Robert Redford's Afghanistan war-inspired film Lions For Lamb.
Starring the actor/director himself alongside Meryl Streep and Tom Cruise,Lions for Lambs' will get an October 22 red-carpet gala premiere in London, with the stars attending.
Festival director Sandra Hebron said about Redford's choice for the premiere: "I guess he likes London, the timing is good, and I think they trust us to give the film a strong profile.''
The Times BFI 51st London Film Festival will open October 17 with David Cronenberg's Eastern Promises.
