Sir Ian McKellen has revealed some tidbits about the eagerly awaited Lord of the Rings prequel.
McKellen will reprise his role as Gandalf in The Hobbit, which will be split into two parts.
The actor told Empire, "(The Hobbit) will be going when they've always said they would be, which is next spring - March or April. Guillermo (del Toro) even told me at one point, 'We're going to film for 383 days.'
"He's got that artistic autism. Peter Jackson's the same, they're very, very, very alike.
"They both can't stand Hollywood and have wonderful imaginations, and they're both obsessed with gore and fantasy. Guillermo's one of the most brilliant men I've ever met."
While McKellen is returning for The Hobbit he revealed that there won't be many other cast members returning from the previous films.
