Lord (Richard) Attenborough is to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2008 RAAM Awards.
Attenborough, who directed Gandhi and starred in Spielberg's Jurassic Park, is a Vice Patron of the CTBF, the trade charity of the UK film and TV industries, and President of the CTBF’s youth talent scheme.
The 2008 RAAM Awards will take place on the evening of Wednesday February 6 2008 at the Millennium Hotel, London W1.
Tony Meehan Chairman of RAAM commented; “RAAM is extremely proud and honoured to be able to award Lord Attenborough with a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the film industry both behind and in front of the camera”.
“It is fitting that The Cinema & Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) is the nominated charity to benefit from the 2008 RAAM Awards."
The RAAM Awards were established four years ago to recognise film distribution and cinema exhibition.
The awards are decided by an advisory board which represents all parts of the UK and Irish film distribution and exhibition industry.
