"I Am Legend" is certainly living up to its billing - this is the third week in a row at the summit of the UK Box Office now for Will Smith's blockbuster. The last-man-on-Earth pic should easily be considered 2008's Box Office pacesetter. More surprisingly however is the fact that "P.S. I Love You" is digging its stiletto heels in at 2 and registering some healthy returns besides.
The first of our new entries this week is Mike Nichol's critically lauded "Charlie Wilson's War" straight in at 3. The political drama starring Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts managed to pick up £1.3 million in loose change to guarantee its place towards the top of the chart. Continuing its strong run at 4 is "St. Trinian's" - this time even out-muscling "Enchanted" which falls to 5.
At 6 then is critter-caper "Alvin and the Chipmunks" just ahead of "The Golden Compass" at 7, which is starting to fall sharply. Another new entry at 8 is "Dan in Real Life" - a rather disappointing debut for Steve Carrell's latest comedy despite being well received by the critics. Losing some of its Box Office sting at 9 is "Bee Movie" with Marc Foster's "The Kite Runner" bringing up the rear at 10.
