Child star Dakota Fanning has been replaced in a new film by Little Miss Sunshine's Abigail Breslin after Fanning refused to shave her head for the role.
Dakota was due to star in My Sister's Keeper alongside her real life sister Elle. However Variety have reported that Dakota quit the production after she balked at the suggestion she would have to be bald for the film. Elle has also left the film.
Oscar nominated actress Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva have now stepped in as replacements for the New Line drama, which is directed by The Notebook's Nick Cassavetes.
Breslin plays a young girl who sues for emancipation from her parents when she discovers she was born only to provide a genetic match for her ailing older sister.
John Cusack, Alec Baldwin and Cameron Diaz all star in the adaptation of the Jodie Picoult novel. The production will begin filming next month.
Breslin is now seen to have replaced Fanning as Hollywood's current child star following her turns in Little Miss Sunshine and new movie Definitely, Maybe.
