Gabriel Macht experiences a "Whiteout"

US star Gabriel Macht has landed the male lead opposite Kate Beckinsale in upcoming action-thriller "Whiteout". The movie, based on Greg Rucka's popular six-part graphic novel series, will see Kate play U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko, who uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic just as the sun is about to set. She must catch the killer before he leaves the ice, or be stuck there with him in the dark for a six months long 'night'. Macht will play a U.N. operative who is also investigating the murder.

Tom Skerritt and Columbus Short also will star in the film, which is being directed by Dominic Sena ("Gone in Sixty Seconds"). Shooting is due to start in Canada this month.
