Keanu Reeves is set to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Depp, who starred in the all singing and dancing Sweeney Todd, by taking the lead role in a musical.
The Matrix actor, who plays a maverick cop in his new film Street Kings, is desperate to shed his action man tag in the future and is looking for a musical role.
"It would have to be singing and dancing, a little musical something - a romance."
And when reminded that Depp did the same thing recently, Reeves remarked, "He was fantastic wasn't he?. He's an inspirational actor but this one just came from me."
The last time Reeves pursued a musical venture it wasn't a successful one - his band Dogstar were pelted with bottles during a gig at Glastonbury in 1999.
