Tommy Lee Jones clearly had such a good time directing The Three Burials, he's decided to get behind the camera again for Islands In The Stream.

The veteran actor will also add another new discipline to his prodigious repertoire, co-writing the screenplay. No mean feat, since the flick is based on a story by revered novelist Ernest Hemingway.

The story was published after the great writer's death in 1961 and tells the story of a painter who serves in the Navy in WWII, before retiring to the Bahamas and becoming something of a recluse.

Not too reclusive, though, that Jones (who will play the lead role, Thomas Hudson) doesn't have space for a fine supporting cast, including Morgan Freeman and John Goodman. No word yet on whether Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton will be on board for the soundtrack.
