Keanu Reeves had to take cop lessons in his new film Street Kings as the director thought The Matrix star was too nice.
Reeves plays a streetwise police officer in the new action movie, but the film's director David Ayer made Keanu spend time with real cops in a bid to toughen his lead actor up.
Reeves said, "I got a lot of help from my director. He kind of felt I was a little too fuzzy and warm so he put me in situations to get into my non-fuzzy world.
"I met with a lot of police officers who were very generous with sharing what the job was like and I trained with some weapons guys.
"One gentleman in particular was really helpful about what it was like to go home. He gave me this book called Hypervigilance, and it's a state that a lot of people in law enforcement have to deal with. Basically, you're always in a kind of fight/flight mode. Your adrenaline is up, you're in a kind of heightened world. And then you have to come home. How do you deal with that?"
Find out for yourself when the film is released on April 18.
