Just when you thought the prehistoric predators of Jurassic Park were dead and gone, we hear another instalment of the movie franchise founded by Steven Spielberg is being made.
Spielberg's 1993 hit won three Oscars, but the director stepped down from the franchise by the time Jurassic Park 3 rolled around, and the last film was a box office flop. Now makers of Jurassic Park 4 have come up with an, erm, interesting twist to pull in the punters - the dinosaurs will be armed with guns.
According to horror site Bloody-Disgusting, that is the premise behind the forthcoming Jurassic Park 4, which will see Laura Dern return as Dr Ellie Sattler, although Sam Neill - who played Dr Alan Grant - has decided to opt out. The basic synopsis is that the government has trained the dinosaurs as military weapons, which means they carry guns on their backs. Unsurprisingly, not everything goes as planned...
Filming is due to start in Kauai, Hawaii later this year.
Would have been fascinating to have heard that one being pitched in a Hollywood office.
