Demi Moore said that she, new husband Ashton Kutcher and ex Bruce Willis had to work hard for their congenial situation to work as smoothly as it looks.
Moore and Willis have three children - Rumer, 19, Scout, 16, and 13-year-old Tallulah Belle - but split in 2000 after 13 years of marriage. The actress, 45, met Kutcher, 15 years her junior, in 2003 and the couple wed in 2005. Willis and Moore's relationship has remained amicable and the Die Hard star seems to get along well with Kutcher.
However, Moore told V magazine: "It wasn't a piece of cake. It wasn't automatic or easy. It took diligence and effort and even enduring awkwardness, and a lot of general giving on my part and Bruce's part. And really, tremendously, on Ashton's part. Coming into my life, Ashton just wasn't meeting somebody that had baggage. You know, I had trunks!"
Talking about her friendly relationship with Willis, she added: "It's far more exhausting to be angry and blaming. You can dig deep within yourself and really have a desire for someone else's happiness, which I feel I do have for Bruce and he has for me."
