Sacha Baron Cohen has previewed his latest film Bruno to a Texas audience.

The Borat star treated a few hundred appreciative film fans to 22 minutes of scenes from the comedy during the South by Southwest festival in Austin.

Bruno is a gay Austrian fashion correspondent looking to make it in Hollywood.

One of his attempts at fame involves adopting a black baby, who he then involves in an art project.

Other scenes see him on a talk show, apparently seeking 'Mr Right'. He angers the audience by bringing out a picture of the child posing as Jesus. He then appears to reinvent himself as “Straight Dave” and stages a martial arts contest which, much to the crowd's disgust, ends with him gyrating with an 'ex-boyfriend'.

The audience at the screening are now clearly familiar with Cohen's humour and the scenes drew much laughter.

The movie, full title 'Bruno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt', will be released in July.
