Controversial Cannes hit Antichrist is to remain uncut for its British release after it was passed by censors.
Dubbed "the most shocking film in the history of the Cannes Film Festival", the harrowing drama by Lars Von Trier certainly caused a stir at this year's event in France - with some journalists walking out of the screenings in disgust over scenes of explicit sex and extreme torture.
However, the BBFC will let British audiences see what the fuss is about after it gave it an 18 certificate. They did concede however that "there is no doubt that some viewers will find the images disturbing and offensive."
Starring Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg, Antichrist is released on July 24.
