Pierce Brosnan doesn't seem able to let his former 007 persona go.

The Bond star has just signed up to play a spook in new film Spy Vs Stu, straight after playing an ageing spy having a nervous breakdown in hit comedy The Matador.

The New Line movie is about a commitment-phobe who plans to finally propose to his girlfriend while on a luxury tropical holiday. But sadly for him, there’s a sexy but bored spy also staying on the island (that'll be Pierce then) who has just finished saving the world and decides to celebrate by wooing Stu’s would-be missus.

Inevitably this leads to a competition to see whether the ordinary bloke or the cool secret agent can win the girl.

There's no director yet, but filming is due to start next year. Meanwhile, Daniel Craig had better hold onto his new job - it looks like Pierce is reluctant to relinquish his license to kill.
