Wahlberg lands drug dealer role

Mark Wahlberg has signed to play a drug dealer in director Peter Berg's as yet untitled film based on the life of international kingpin Jon Roberts. Is this to become all the rage since Denzel Washington's American Gangster?

The film will tell the story of Roberts, who ended up distributing cocaine worth billions of dollars after his return from Vietnam as a decorated soldier.

Berg, who's currently applying finishing touches to the Will Smith-starring super hero comedy Hancock, will co-produce the film with Wahlberg, who's currently shooting Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones.
