Danny Huston has reportedly been lined up to play the main villain in the stand-alone Wolverine movie.
Wolverine, once again played by Hugh Jackman, is to get his own spin-off film following the success of the X-Men movies.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's mysterious beginnings and will see familiar characters such as Sabretooth, who was seen in X-Men, and X2's William Stryker reappear. This time, however they will be played by younger actors, with Liev Schreiber playing Sabretooth and Huston lined up for the role of Stryker.
It was recently reported that Six Feet Under's Michael C. Hall would be playing Stryker, but it now seems Danny, son of famed Hollywood director John, has the role, reports Empire.com.
The character was originally played by Brian Cox in X2
Huston is no stranger to comic book villains, He played the head vampire in the big screen adaptation of the graphic novel 30 Days of Night last year.
In the new film, which Jackman also produces, Wolverine seeks revenge against Sabretooth for killing his girlfriend. Tsotsi's Gavin Hood directs and it will be released in the summer of 2009.
