Iron Man 2 is underway with its now stellar cast.
Director, Jon Faverau has expressed his excitement by posting an announcement that rehearsals have begun. Adding "my life is no longer my own. I forgot how overwhelming this process is."
With its release set for summer 2010 it could be decidedly overwhelming! - giving Faverau much less time than he had previously with the first Iron Man film.
Downey Jr., and Gwyneth Paltrow return as Tony Stark and Pepper Potts, and now an extra spice is thought to have been added, in the form of Scarlett Johnannson. This is alongside Don Cheadle, Sam Rockwell and Mickey Rourke, but rumours persist questioning Samuel L. Jackson's return as Nick Fury of Shield due to pay negotiations.
Paramount is lining up a strong slate for the coming summers with Iron Man next year to follow this year's Transformers 2. Then a third Transformers is to be readied of 2011 (or 2012 depending on who you want to believe!). 2011 will also see another Marvel hero on screen with Kenneth Branagh's Thor and an Avengers film to bring together several of the heroes is still being talked up for 2012.
