Harry Potter out-performs Star Wars

Another day, another record for Harry Potter.

Having already topped the US box office, Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix has now smashed the record for the biggest four day opening weekend at the UK box office.

The film took the UK box office by storm, propelling the franchise into the record books yet again with a box office of £16.5 million, beating the previous record of £14.3 million set in 2005 by Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Order of the Phoenix is now also the largest worldwide opening in Warner Bros history, grossing $330 million.
