Nicole Kidman treated 400 ill kids to a screening of Happy Feet, the animated penguin film for which she provides a voice.
The Aussie star hosted the screening at Sydney's Fox Studios for the young patients of the Sydney Children's Hospital.
"It's just lovely to be able to come and do something for the kids," she said, before telling the excited youngsters "I want to say thank you because you all inspire me."
During Kidman's visit to her hometown she's expected to be discussing her next movie project, Australia, with director Baz Luhrmann.
She's set to star alongside fellow Aussie Hugh Jackman in the The World War II epic for which shooting begins in March.
