Jack White and Alicia Keys' theme to Quantum Of Solace has been shortlisted for an Oscar nomination.
Another Way To Die is among 49 songs from which a few will vie for the best song Oscar next year. White and Keys face competition from veterans Peter Gabriel (WALL-E) and Bruce Springsteen (The Wrestler) but they will all have to see off several songs from those young High School Musical upstarts. Ten of the 49 songs are from High School Musical 3, including The Boys Are Back, I Want It All and A Night to Remember, however, there's a maximum of two songs allowed to be nominated from each film.
The list will be streamlined on January 22 when the nominations are announced for the 81st Academy Awards. In an unusual move for the Academy, no comedian will host the show (not even Billy Crystal!). Instead they have chosen Australia star Hugh Jackman to host the ceremony on February 22.
