He has helmed Reality Bites, Cable Guy and cult comedy Zoolander but Ben Stiller has admitted that he doesn't like directing.
The funnyman, who has also just directed forthcoming action comedy Tropic Thunder, reveals he would rather have someone else oversee helming duties because he doesn't think he is good enough.
He told Access Hollywood, "I don't enjoy it [directing] particularly because I'd rather have a better director directing me and there's no-one to turn to really.
"So then you do actually rely on your actors and people you trust. When you've got someone great like Robert Downey Jr (who appears in Tropic Thunder) who's just an amazing actor on set, you can ask him what he thinks."
The Vietnam war action picture also stars Jack Black, Matthew McConaughey, Steve Coogan and Nick Nolte - and Stiller (who also appears in the movie) can't believe how lucky he got with the casting.
"I can't believe the cast we got for the movie because every actor was so at the top of their game.
"It was a great group of people. I had a really good time and got to be an action hero without any of the pressure of having to be taken seriously, so that's good. We've been working on the script for about ten years on and off so it was really fun to actually make it."
