George Clooney is to play a psychic soldier in his next movie - the strangely titled The Men Who Stare At Goats.
The film is based on British journalist Jon Ronson's book which documented the US Army's attempt at creating psychic soldiers in the 1970s and 80s. The First Earth Battalion was a unit that for 25 years had soldiers attempting to kills goats with their mind. The book claims that it did work on one occasion.
It's thought Clooney will play Lt Col Jim Channon who started the organisation after he came back from a fact finding mission touring Californian hippy communes.
The film is to be directed by Clooney's Good Night, And Good Luck's producing partner Grant Heslov. How To Lose Friends And Alienate People's Peter Straughan is on scriptwriting duties.
