The "Godfather of MTV" will be celebrated at The Times BFI 50th London Film Festival, it has been announced.
The nickname was given to indie filmmaker Kenneth Anger for his groundbreaking use of music in Scorpio Rising.
He is also known for his Hollywood Babylon series of books, which lifted the lid on Hollywood's seedier side.
The Kenneth Anger 35mm Preservations event will show his best films in never seen before quality, while Anger Me, a feature-length documentary, sees the director review his career.
The screenings takes place during the festival's Avant-Garde Weekend (October 28-30).
Also featured is Jack Smith & The Destruction Of Atlantis, a documentary about Jack, who worked in theatre, fashion and photography, as well as film.
Andy Warhol once called him: "The only person I would ever copy. He makes the best movies."
And newcomer Cam Archer will show his anticipated debut feature film Wild Tigers I Have Known, about a teenage crush.
