Hot Fuzz is biggest UK opener

Hot Fuzz has had the biggest opening box office of this year.

Hot Fuzz took £5,913,144 in the UK over the weekend (including previews on February 14 and 15) making it Universal’s fifth biggest box office opening to date and Working Title’s third biggest box office opening after Love Actually and Bridget Jones Diary: The Edge of Reason. It is also the UK’s 5th biggest comedy opening weekend box office to date.

The opening weekend positions the film at No. 1 in the weekend’s Top 10 ahead of Charlottes Web at No 2 with a second weekend gross of £1.8 million and Music and Lyrics at No 3. with a second weekend gross of £1.4 million
