Pirates of the Caribbean 4 isn't just a possibility - it's a cinematic certainty.
Well that's according to a report from Cinema Blend who say Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush are definitely up for reprising their roles in a third sequel to the Disney franchise. Director Gore Verbinski is also on board to helm the high seas adventure.
However, no other actors from the original first three films will return - sadly that includes Keira Knightley (pic with Depp) and Orlando Bloom - as Pirates 4 will focus only on Captain Jack and his family (which could mean we'll see more of Keith Richards as his dad).
A trusted insider told the website that the next film will have a "science-fiction" plot.
He reported: "The ending of Pirates 3, the fountain of youth story might not be the only story they use. Some of the brainstorming going around involves some Jules Verne type of scenarios involving some pretty big flying machines, a man who wants to rule more than just the ocean, a encounter with the most famous and dangerous pirate of all, a race to get to a lost world (Atlantis?) and Jack and his crew going to where no pirate has gone before".
To give the franchise "room to breath", the film is tipped to appear in either 2009 or 2010.
