Russell Crowe showed his generous side after buying a film worker a new car.

Denise Yarde is working as a boom mic operator on Ridley Scott's Robin Hood adventure - which stars Crowe as the titular hero.

She got a shock when on the way to work recently her car caught fire and burst into flames.

After recounting the story to her colleagues, she reportedly got upset when Crowe made light of the incident.

She is said to have told the Oscar winning actor, "Well, I suppose it's okay for you Russell. You've probably never had to worry about finding five grand for a car."

Feeling bad, Crowe went back to Yarde later on in the day with a wad of cash.

He told her, "You can buy a £10,000 car now."

It's not the first time Crowe has showed his kind side on the set of Robin Hood. He recently treated staff to a slap up meal at a Welsh pub - and left staff with a £600 tip.

Seems Robin Hood's generous nature is rubbing off on Crowe.
