Mark Wahlberg has still got it! Despite shedding his Funky Bunch many years ago, Wahlberg has still very much got the Box Office Funk when it comes to his latest starring role as "Max Payne". Fox' computer game adaptation grossed a strong $18 million in its first weekend to nab the number one spot. Despite grossing more than "Resident Evil" and 2006's "Doom", "Max Payne" still only comes in at ninth in the all-time top grossing computer game adaptations.

Thanks to Wahlberg's muscle Disney's "Beverly Hills Chihuahua" has finally been knocked off of the top spot in its third week of release and finds itself down to 2 having grossed $69 million thus far. The 'Out of Leftfield' award this week goes to "The Secret Life of Bees". The all-star, adaptation of Sophia Monk Kidd's bestseller took a respectable $11 million to debut at 3, no doubt due to its stellar cast including Dakota Fanning, Queen Latifah and Alicia Keys. That means that Oliver Stone's "W" was forced out of the running with the eagerly anticipated presidential biopic reduced to a fourth-placed debut.

Shia LaBeouf and director DJ Caruso's "Eagle Eye" drops one place down to 5 this week with "Body of Lies" finding it tough going having shipped three places down to 6. The Americanised version of "[REC]", "Quarantine" falls an astonishing five places to 7 and that's despite a strong opening last week for this zombie horror. The Indie of The Moment, "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" drops down to 8 in its third week on general release with another indie-tastic comedy, "Sex Drive" landing in at 9 on its opening weekend. And rounding things off this week is Richard Gere and Diane Lane in "Nights in Rodanthe" at 10.
