Brian De Palma is rumoured to be directing a prequel to his 1987 classic The Untouchables.
The project titled simply Al Capone has long been mooted with Antoine Fuqua linked to direct it, however, he recently told Aint it Cool News he wasn't involved anymore but said, "I think Brian De Palma is now."
Al Capone tells the story of the notorious gangster's early years and could start shooting in June.
Nicolas Cage and Sean Penn are tipped to be frontrunners to play the lead role. De Palma cast Robert DeNiro as an older Capone in The Untouchables.
