Bloom gets An Education

Orlando Bloom has signed on to star in new coming of age drama, An Education.

The Lord Of The Rings actor will alongside much loved Brit thesp, Emma Thompson in the film which is set in 1960s swingin' London. There is no word yet on what part Bloom will play, but the plot focuses on a 17 year old girl (newcomer Kate Mulligan) whose life is turned upside down upon the arrival of a thirty something playboy played by Peter Sarsgaard.

Rosamund Pike, Olivia Williams, Alfred Molina and recent Berlin Silver Prize winner Sally Hawkins are also signed on to also appear in the film.

Celebrated British author Nick Hornby has written the screenplay, based on the memoirs of British journalist Lynn Barber. Shooting begins in March and is planned to continue through to April. The art cinema hit director of Italian for Beginners, Lone Scherfig will sit, studiously not doubt, behind the camera.

While he might be starring in An Education, when it comes to the ladies Bloom continues to be top of the class. Stunning model Miranda Kerr has given the biggest hint yet that she is dating the acting hunk who seems to be continually linked to a different girl each week. Most recently the two were spotted hugging and kissing on a recent date and Kerr admitted to People Magazine, "He's a sweetheart and that's all I'm gonna say. Sweetheart." You can't argue with that!
