With George Romero's "The Crazies" having been optioned for the obligatory remake almost four years ago, it's surprising that no news has come out about casting...until now that is. "Hitman" star Timothy Olyphant has signed on to take the lead role in Overture's redo with Breck Eisner directing and Romero producing.
The story revolves around the inhabitants of a small Kansas town who are beset by death and insanity after a plane crash lets loose a secret biological weapon into the water supply. Olyphant will play the town's sheriff whose job it is to survive the carnage!
