Rupert Everett has branded Jodie Foster's 'coming out' as insignificant, insisting she is too old for anyone to care anymore.
The Silence of the Lambs actress has appeared to end constant speculation about her sexuality after she thanked her producer partner Cydney Bernard at an award show recently. She said, "Thank you to my beautiful Cydney who sticks with me through all the rotten and the bliss".
However, Everett believes Foster only made the statement now because she could never have done it when her career was at its peak.
The homosexual actor said, "She is 45 and just couldn't be bothered anymore. After a certain age you can be gay in Hollywood. Before that, it's not only not good, it's impossible."
Everett came out when he was 30 in 1989.
