Ewan McGregor has insisted surgery procedures to remove cancerous moles removed just below his right eye was "no big deal" and that he is "fine".

The Trainspotting actor had the moles removed recently after he had a check up. He said, "You have to be careful if you have pale skin and you spend time in the sun with moles. So I went to a specialist who thought it would be better to get them removed and he was correct.

"It's not that big of a deal but it was something to be looked at and kept in check."

He also sarcastically quipped after if he was asked if he found the experience frightening, "It was great fun having skin cancer, it was great, I really enjoyed it."

His new thriller Deception, which also stars Hugh Jackman, is released on Friday.
