Martin Scorsese is clearly in to his music. After working closely with The Rolling Stones on the revealing concert documentary "Shine a Light", Scorsese was lining up a retrospective documentary on the life and times of the legendary Bob Marley. But, due to scheduling conflicts, Scorsese has had to step away from the project leaving the way clear for Jonathan Demme ("Silence of the Lambs", "Philadelphia") to take over.

This Bob Marley project is an authorised documentary produced by the Marley family's Tuff Gong Pictures and Steve Bing's Shangri-La Entertainment and is looking to provide an invaluable window in to Marley's life on the 65th anniversary of his birth.

The documentary is targeting a release date of February 6, 2010.
