Pop babe Rachel Stevens is set to appear in the sequel to the much maligned Pink Pather movie.

Despite the recent remake, starring Steve Martin and Beyonce Knowles, receiving a mauling from critics, Sony has signed up for a further two with the former S Club 7 star as the possible female lead, according to darkhorizons.com.

The next film will have Martin’s Inspector Clouseau teaming up with Scotland Yard to work on a case.

Dodgeball writer and director Rawson Marshall Thurber and Mike Saltzman wrote the script which Martin is now tweaking. It’s likely that Thurber will also direct the next film.

Returning stars Kevin Kline, Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer have been roped in to do the next two films too. But it looks like Beyonce is giving it a wide berth.
