Michael Fassbender is in talks to take over the role Simon Pegg had to turn down in Quentin Tarantino's WWII flick Inglorious Bastards.
Fassbender is in the frame to play Lt. Archie Hicox after Pegg had to pull out due to "insurmountable scheduling difficulties".
Fassbender previously appeared in 300 and will be seen in the upcoming British horror film Eden Lake.
If negotiations go according to plan, Fassbender will join Brad Pitt, Mike Myers and Eli Roth who are confirmed cast members while Nastassja Kinski, David Krumholtz and B.J. Novak are strongly rumoured to be involved.
